Street Manners
Instructor: Alisha Fritz

Wednesday, January 24, 2018 7:45 PM - 8:45 PM

Street Manners is a 7 week intermediate level manners course with a focus on skills needed in the real world, especially during walks, with a strong emphasis on generalizing behaviors and dealing with distractions.  This class is especially beneficial for dogs who pull on leash, are easily distracted or who have difficulty responding to their handler outside of the home.  We will cover behaviors such as polite leash walking, walking past other dogs and waiting for permission to greet humans and other dogs. This class is not appropriate for most reactive dogs. Reactive dogs (those who bark, pull, and lunge towards other dogs or people while on walks) may be allowed to attend with permission from the instructor: afritz@richmondspca.org

Prerequisite: Canine Manners or another basic manners class strongly recommended. All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations and at least 6 months old. Spaying or neutering is strongly recommended. The first class is for HUMANS ONLY and is held in Smoky's Training Center, accessed from the third parking lot. No class January 31st.
