Dr. Ivey is a native of Kentucky. She was accepted by Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine early decision from the University of Louisville, where she was majoring in biology. She earned her doctor of veterinary medicine from Auburn in 1985. For nearly 20 years, Dr. Ivey worked in private practice, running a successful clinic she started in Colonial Heights along with a satellite clinic she opened in Chester.

She joined the staff of the Richmond SPCA in 2004. Markel Veterinary Hospital.

Tori

Tori Williams
Senior Hospital Manager

Tori graduated in 2011 from Longwood University and began working in customer service after moving to Richmond. During her time at Longwood, Tori worked in a veterinary hospital and loved the fast-paced environment and she hoped to find a career that would combine her love for animals with her natural customer service skills. Tori joined the Richmond SPCA in October 2012 in the Lora Robins gift shop and transitioned to the Clinic for Compassionate Care a few months after.  Soon after joining the clinic staff, Tori was promoted to the coordinator of client services and then senior hospital manager of the area's first full-service, low-cost veterinary hospital, the Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital, which opened in January 2016. Tori enjoys running, stand-up comedy and hanging out with her cat, Hipster Kitty.

Dr. Bowers

Courtney Bowers, DVM
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Bowers joined the Susan M. Markel Veterinary staff in April of 2016, just months after it opened. She received her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston in South Carolina and went on to graduate from the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. An equine internship brought Dr. Bowers to the Richmond area and she began generously donating her time and veterinary skills to the Richmond SPCA before joining the staff full time. When she is not helping patients in the Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Bowers is spending time with her two dogs, Luke and Violet, as well as her cat, Junior, and horse, Pedro.

Dr. Molinas

Dr. David Molinas, DVM
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. David Molinas is a  2012 graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He started his career in a private practice in Denver, Colorado but quickly realized that his true passion for veterinary medicine included the provision of it to those of a low income status. He transitioned to Pet Aid, which services pets of guardians with limited means, and worked there for almost 4 years. He moved to Richmond with his wife for a career opportunity and joined the team of the Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital as an associate veterinarian. He enjoys performing intensive surgeries and educating clients. In his free time he likes to enjoy outdoor activities with his wife, 2 kids and 2 dogsnamed Yeti and Hank.

Dr. Infantes

Dr. Jaime Infantes, DVM
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Infantes comes to the Richmond area from Spain where he was a small animal veterinarian for 4 years. He is excited about starting his career in the United States at the Richmond SPCA where he provides care for both the patients of the hospital and homeless pets being readied for adoption. Dr. Infantes enjoys traveling as much as possible, especially if the location has an aquarium!

Spanish is Dr. Infantes first language, and our Spanish-speaking clients may request him as their primary care veterinarian.

What she loves most about her job is seeing the bond between guardians and their pets and wants to ensure she is able to help those guardians provide the best veterinary care possible for their precious companions. In her free time, Erin enjoys spending time outdoors with her family- 2 rescue dogs and her husband, Matt.

She has been with the Richmond SPCA for 2 years with her initial start being in taking care of homeless pets in our kennel areas. Talia cared for many different small animals while growing up and this, along with many hours of watching “ Emergency Vet” on Animal Planet, encouraged her love and eventual career in veterinary medicine. In her spare time she likes to hang out with friends, check out vegetarian restaurants and enjoy life with her beagle, Josie.

She moved to the Richmond area in May 2016 and joined the staff as a part-time veterinary assistant of the Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital. Her passion for the profession and ability to deliver spectacular customer service led to her being promoted as a full-time veterinary assistant soon after.
