Mojo Hi there. I have a dog that I need to re-home. His name is Mojo. He's 3 years old and a Siberian husky/ poodle/German shepherd mix. Mojo is a wonderful dog who loves his family very much. The issue with him is that he has a lot of anxiety around unfamiliar people and dogs. He can be familiarized with people. It takes a lot of time and patience, but he can become accustomed to new people over a period of time if things are done slowly. Our issue is we have two young children. He's wonderful with our kids, but, we are very social people and our children will soon start to make friends, and with a steady stream of people into the house, it will become very difficult for us to manage this problem with Mojo. It's a tough situation. I would think the best scenario would be an older couple or perhaps someone who lives on a farm where there's lots of open space and not too many people. When Mojo is comfortable with you, he's a very sweet, obedient, and very trainable dog. He loves the outdoors and could make someone a wonderful companion, provided they were up to taking on his anxiety issues. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. You can call me at 323-359-3084 or email me at goformatt@gmail.com.

Zelda Zelda is a 6-year-old medium hair tabby. She is spayed and up to date on all her shots. She is a very loving cat but may need time to warm up to new people. Like most cats, she is very independent. She would much rather sit next to you than on your lap. Zelda is very well behaved, as long as she has her scratchers she will not mess with any carpet or furniture. Unfortunately, she needs a new home due to family members’ allergies. She does well living with children of all ages, dogs and other cats. If you would like more information please feel free to contact Samantha at 804-289-0265 or squicke@gmail.com.

We would like to re-home Lilly, our Jack Russell who is 12 years old. We bred Lilly (as we owned her mother, Emma). All of the puppies went to friends of the family and they have all been great pets, including Lilly. Unfortunately, my husband and I are going through a divorce and move and cannot take her with us. I travel frequently and am living with my mother. She cannot take care of Lilly. Lilly is friendly, loving, caring, and greets all people very eagerly. She always slept in the bed with us until I moved to live with my mother nine months ago. She lives inside most of the time and is housetrained, but likes to go outside and explore. We lived near a golf course and she used to love to run all over the place. Lilly has lived with dogs most of her life (most recently, she loved with a Boykin Spaniel and she used to love to run and play with her). She is trained on an invisible fence. Lilly is very low maintenance except for the fact that she loves to cuddle and be rubbed on her tummy! Lilly is healthy with a small incontinent problem (which she takes pills for). Her accidents were very infrequent, about once a month, until she went on the pills. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. We feed her Iams. It upsets me terribly to let Lilly go, but I know it is the right thing to do. I hope we can find someone who will love her as much as we have. Please contact us if you would like to learn more.

Our family has a purebred Jack Russell named Roxy that we are looking to re-home. She is 6 years old and very active. Roxy is sweet with children. We also have a cat. Our cat and Roxy do not get along very well. As a result, Roxy is not inside a whole lot. She does sleep inside at night in a big kennel. Our family leads a very active life with work, school, and sports, so we are away from home a lot. We do take Roxy to the beach with us and she loves it! She is calm at the beach house (where there are no cats). While she listens pretty well, she has gotten away from us a few times so we keep her inside a fence or on a leash at all times. She is healthy, spayed, and up to date on all shots. If you would like to learn more about Roxy, please email me.

This is Tiki. I call him a mix breed but he looks a lot like a Catahoula Leopard dog to me. He is very tall and weighs approximately 95 pounds. He is neutered and up to date on immunizations. Tiki is a goofy, loyal, gentle, and affectionate friend. He can be a little timid around strangers. If people give him time and respect his space, Tiki will be more than happy to approach once he is comfortable. He is especially fond of female companions. He would do best in a home without children. I am re-homing him because he does not get along well with my 3-year-old child. Tiki’s favorite game is tug-of-war. He also enjoys playing fetch but he isn’t all that good at it! Poor boy! He loves to be pet and loved on (expect when he is sleeping). Tiki has food allergies and urinary incontinence. He eats nature’s Domain dog food (from Costco) for his allergies. He takes prescription Proin for the incontinence and has not had an accident in years. Prospective owners should be aware that Tiki sometimes exhibits signs of separation anxiety and may need some behavioral training. Please call (804-822-9790) or email me with any questions you may have. Thank you!

Hi! I'm Molly and I'm quite the playful companion. I turn 2 years old in August. I am spayed, have a microchip, and am currently up-to-date on my shots. I wish I could go with my owners but they are moving to California and have to live on-base. The house will not allow pets so it looks like I am looking for my forever home. I like other dogs and cats! Also, if you have a mouse problem I will be happy help fix that! If you are my forever home please contact email Mary.

Arf! Hi! My name is Charlie and I love life! I'm 5 months old and I've been with my current family since I was 8 weeks old. I was abandoned as a puppy and my owner took one look at my face and new she had to have me. She has taken excellent care of me since she brought me home, but unfortunately, she just doesn't have as much time as she thought she would to really help me let all this energy out! I'm neutered and have had my first round of shots. I get my booster shot in just one week. I'm even current on my flea medicine! I weigh about 30 lbs. and I've probably got another 20 lbs. to grow into. I'm crate trained and won't potty in the house as long as you let me out to go when I need to, so be sure to look for my cues! I've been in puppy training for four weeks and have two weeks left to go. So far, I understand sit, down, and I'm working really hard on stay. I've even been practicing walking with manners, but it’s quite a journey. It's taking time, but I’m getting there! I'm super smart and I'm going to be a great companion for the right person or family. I like long walks and I love love love other dogs – especially playing with them! Cats are super fun to chase, but not everyone appreciates that part of me. I would probably like a big fenced in back yard to run in. One of my favorite outdoor toys is a hula hoop! I need my new owner(s) to really work with me on training and I would probably do best in a home where someone was around a lot because I just love people! My owner is asking for a re-homing fee of $50 to ensure that I go to a wonderful home. I come with a crate, a blanket, lots and lots of toys, tons of treats, a leash with a gentle leader, and whatever remaining food is left over by the time I've found my new home. If you love my face as much as other people do, please email my mom, Lindsay, and she'll be happy to talk to you about me!

Meet Caramel! She is a 9 year old medium sized (42ish lbs.), Aussie/Shepherd mix with black/brown brindle coloring who is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her shots. She LOVES attention and has never had issues with people. She is completely housebroken and crate trained, but we have not had to use the crate for several years. She'll do just about anything for a treat and, as a result, has mastered her basic commands of "sit", "lay down" and "stay" in addition to party tricks like "up", "paw", and "speak." Because of her age, she prefers to snore most of the day away, but she can still run our 3-year-old Cattle Dog into the ground without blinking. She loves car rides, and has no issues with long trips. Caramel operates best in a home where she is the only dog (cats/other animals are not a problem for her). If you would like to meet Caramel, please email Nichole. Thank you!

This sweet and pretty girl is Storm. She is a spayed female pittie who is about 4 years old. She was found wandering the streets of Richmond and is currently living at Swift Creek Animal Hospital. She had some blood on one ear and was a little thin. Her caregiver says she "has some old scars on her head, but they don't detract from her beauty." She has been living there a few months now and is loved by the staff. However, Storm needs a home to call her own! The staff got her cleaned up and up to date on her vaccines. Her heartworm test is negative (and that includes all tick borne diseases as well). Storm "has a wonderful and gentle personality, but is playful too. She gets along well with small and large dogs, but seems to enjoy the little guys the most. She has not been tested with cats. She knows how to sit and is food motivated. She is a bit strong on a leash, but I think with a little training, she would do wonderfully." If you're interested in the precious gal, please call 804-744-7222. Thank you!

Meet Molly! She is a sweet 5-year-old chocolate lab mix. She weighs approximately 55 lbs., is spayed and is in good health with current shots. She is house trained and very lovable and friendly. We have had Molly since she was a puppy. Molly loves playing with other dogs and is great around children of all ages. She loves to tug, run, and splash in the mud. She has a calm temperament inside the house. Molly does get anxious when left at home alone, but we are hopeful that Molly would do well in a home with other dogs and with a family that understands her condition and might have some experience with this. If you would like to meet Molly, please call Welford at 804-921-4871. Thanks!

Lexi is my 8-year-old gray tabby. She is super sweet, loyal and loving. She's healthy, litter box trained, spayed, vaccinated, and would love a forever home. Over the past few years, Lexi has became progressively more withdrawn and anxious because my 3-year-old cat bullies her tirelessly (plays too hard). Consequently, I came to the difficult decision that Lexi would benefit greatly from being the only kitty in a new home. When she is on her own, she is sweet, affectionate and loyal. I know she will be a wonderful pet for a someone (or a family) who is looking for a new cat. If you are interested in adopting Lexi, or know someone who may be, I'd be so happy – please let me know. Contact information: 732-309-2541 or email. Thanks so much for reading and for your consideration.

Hi! My name is Gus, Gussy, GusBear, Puppy and Dog! I am an almost 8-year-old Chihuahua/Pug mix. I have adorable floppy ears, a curly tail, a round body (I might be a little on the overweight side by more pounds then I care to mention! My human says I weigh, 22lbs... but who is counting, right!?) and the sweetest personality. I love everybody!! I am a lover and snuggling is my favorite activity. I need a home and a family that has lots of time for those snuggles. My family now has gotten too busy for me and it isn't fair to me or my poor little bladder. I would do great in a home with maybe a retired human that could take me on walks, let me out to do my "business" often and wouldn't mind letting me sit on their lap ALL the time! If that human had grand kids that might visit or we could visit that would be great... I love kids and road trips! I am not really a talker. I only bark when I have something important to say and I know you would want to hear it, like, when someone is at the door or there is a strange noise outside. I am honestly the most laid back dog. I love lying on the couch and watching TV. I love sleeping curled up in blankets and if I am allowed in the human bed sleeping at someone's feet. My family is so sad at the thought of letting me go, but they know that I will find the perfect home and new family to love me just as much as they do. If you would like to meet me or have any questions my humans have an email: enmcallister@gmail.com. If you think you could love me, please, send an email because I would love to meet you! Love, Gus (via his human, Nicole)

This adorable gal is Crenshaw or "Crennie." She is a 13-year-old female cat who is up to date on all shots and has been spayed. Crennie is a sweet cat who loves people and loves to be petted. Recently, she was diagnosed with diabetes, but the Vet (Dr. Rose at West Broad Vet) says she is not in pain. She takes two shots of insulin a day, very easy to administer, but I am traveling for my job and unable to provide the medical treatment she needs. She would love a new home and I can provide insulin and syringes for 60 days. If you're interested in Crennie, please contact Jon at 804-380-7747.

Dallas is a Labrador Retreiever/Hound mix who is about 1.5 years old. He has a wonderful and sweet personality – as you can see, he smiles all the time :). He weighs about 70 lbs. (all muscle) and is neutered and up to date on all his shots. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. He has never been around kids, so I'm not sure how he would do with children. He is potty trained and loves someone to throw him a tennis ball for him. Please contact me if you are interested. Jenniferanne920@yahoo.com.

Meet Ranger and Casper! Both cats get along with each other very well. They are always chasing each other around the house. Both are great with the kids. I feed both cats twice a day and they only eat dry food. I have an automatic feeder that dispenses once in the morning around 6:30 a.m. and again in the evening around 5 p.m. They eat Blue, the weight control formula or the indoor cat formula. They are litter box trained and I never had any problems with them not using the litter box.
Ranger is very good with strangers and visitors he knows. He will be there waiting at the door when we come in. If he sees you coming, he will roll over on his back and wait to be pet. He has only been exposed to a small dog; at first he was a little nervous, but then he warmed up to him and they played together. He loves to scratch on the scratching post, loves laser lights, and any feathery toys. He loves to be brushed as well. He will come to you when you call him.
Casper is the opposite of Ranger. He is a shy guy. When strangers are in the house, he will hide. If someone he knows comes in the house, he is ok. He may not run up to them, but he will not hide. It takes him awhile to warm up to people, but when he does, he is very loving. He loves to climb: I catch him on my top of my entertainment stand all the time. He was not good with the dog and hid most of the time. He also loves to be brushed, loves laser lights, and any feathery toy. He got attached to my son instantly, so I always see him lying on the bed with my son.
Both are neutered and up to date on their shots. If you are interested these cats, please contact Jaime Hill at Jaime6277@yahoo.com or 732-533-8339.

This gorgeous gal is Kiki. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. She lived without an owner until she was taken in by her current guardian last October. Unfortunately, she does not get along well with her guardian’s resident cat, so she needs to find a new home. She would love a playmate as she enjoys playing very much. She loves to run around and chase her cat friends (only the other cat doesn’t like it). She would likely get along with a playful cat. If you are interested in adopting this beautiful and spunky gal, please contact Vanessa at vdegraw@yahoo.com.

Lucy is a sweet Pit and Weimaraner mix. She is a little over 1 year old, spayed and up to date on all of her shots. She is very active and would love to be taken on lots of walks. She likes lots of attention and could benefit greatly from training. She is great with our two daughters, but we have another on the way and we think that Lucy would be better in a home where she can get more attention. Hi, I'm Molly and I am looking for a new, loving family! One of my owners' young children has been diagnosed with a dog allergy, so they can't keep me anymore. It is very hard for my family to give me away, so they really want to find the right person or family for me! I am a Boxer and Jack Russell mix, I weigh about 40 pounds, and I am 8.5 years old. I am up to date on all shots and spayed. I recently found out I have a partially torn ACL in my knee. Surgery was recommended, but not mandatory. I still have lots of energy and love walking and running just as much as before. However, my vet has recommended leash walks (but I still love my backyard) and also not climbing a lot of stairs each day. I am very loveable and sweet, and love to play! I also enjoy lying with people and being scratched all over. Please consider taking me in! Contact Hannah at 804-405-2570 if interested.

Ombra (French for "Shadow") was rescued by her owner nine years ago when she appeared on the back deck. At the time, a French foreign exchange student was living with the family and gave her the name Ombra because of her short-haired gray coat. Upon being rescued, Ombra was spayed and tested negative for FeLV/FIV. She has since been declawed and continues to get fantastic reports at her annual checkups. She is up to date on her vaccinations. Ombra is now 10 and her owners are relocating soon and will not be able to take her with them. She is a very sweet and loving indoor cat. Her favorite place is anywhere her owner is, laying in a lap. She loves to wait at the door when you come home and loves to sit and look out the window for you when you're gone. She even gives kitty kisses when you're petting her, which can make children a little nervous. Ombra does have a fear of dogs. If you're interested in more information on Ombra, please email cobbssi@gmail.com.

Kitten is an extremely cute and curious cat. She is about 8 years old and was literally born in a barn. She belonged to my previous wife who died and I have kept her since; however, I am going to be moving soon and my new landlord will not allow me to have her. Even though she is getting to be middle aged, she still has the look of a kitten about her and her name was well chosen. Kitten loves playing with water and will drink right out of the faucet. She can be a little nervous at first, but warms up to people pretty quickly and loves to lay on your chest or stomach. She is current with all her shots and has been spayed and microchipped. She currently lives with cats and dogs. Please email me at liliafan@gmail.com if you are interested in Kitten. Thanks!

These two kitties have been living on my porch for three years. “Fat Ed” (tabby) loves a good head scratch and will sit with you and keep you company. Both would be very happy being indoor/outdoor cats. They are low maintenance . They are both spayed/neutered and are current on their rabies vaccines. I am moving and cannot take them with me to the suburbs. Please email Chandra.Hulcher@va.gov if you are interested.

This is Jasmine and Abu, we are 7 years old and yes, we are named after Aladdin and we fit the part perfectly. Jasmine, the white and tabby cat is quite a little princess. We call her our daytime cuddler because if you are home during the day, get ready for some serious cuddles and lots of breadmaking. She is as sweet as they come. Abu, he is our little monkey, he is part bengal cat and probably more like a dog than a cat. He will wait for you by the door, loves to play with toys, and if there is water running, he loves to play in it. At night though, he becomes our cuddle monster and won't leave your side. Together, they are an amazing pair with lots of love to give. It is breaking our heart to get rid of them, but must due to severe allergies in the family.
Jasmine is a little overweight and will eat Abu's food if given the chance so we keep his food in the pantry and he will come ask for it when he is hungry. He does have a sensitive tummy so we feed him a food with high protein. Neither of them are declawed, but we have never had any problem with them using their claws on furniture or people. We have two small children and they are both good with, and Abu is excellent with them! We also have a dog and although shy at first, they get along great with her. These are very loved animals and we are looking for a new home that will love them as well. If interested in meeting them, please email or call 804-432-2150.

Hello! I would like to introduce myself. My name is Star, but I am not a diva! As you can see from my picture, I am a petite (7 lbs.), female grey and white cat. I was given the name Star because I have an amber blaze on my forehead. I have lived a very blessed life. About 10 years ago, I was rescued from a shelter by a wonderful 83-year-old angel. She and I lived together for 10 years until she went to join other angels in heaven. Since then, I have lived with my angel's daughter who now has to move. Unfortunately, I cannot go with her.
I love older adults, but could fit in with any loving family. I am a bit shy, but everyone says I am very sweet and affectionate. I am definitely an indoor gal, having never liked the out of doors. Although I am over 10 years old, I am healthy. All of my shots are current. My front paws have been declawed and I have been spayed. Every day I hope and pray there is another angel out there who will adopt me and welcome me into a loving home. Thank you. If you have any questions, you can email us at srossmail@yahoo.com, or you can call us at 804-833-3428.

This lovely lady is Tweety. She is 12 years old and has lived in her current home since 2000. She is gentle and loving. She is strictly and indoor cat and is happy to sit near a window most of the day. Tweety eats only dry food (she has never liked canned foods or tuna juice) and is litter trained. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. Until about a year ago her sister was her constant companion, but the sister cat has died. She loves to be petted and would make a sweet addition to a family of adult humans. Please call Cheryl at 804-920-5191 if you're interested in Tweety!

Fergie is a grey and black 5-year-old female and was the runt of her litter. She is still very petite and absolutely beautiful. She is a snuggler! She likes to go outside briefly now and then. She does very well with other cats, dogs and children. Oscar, also known as Tuna (long story) is also 5 years old, from a different litter than Fergie. He is male and is declawed. Tuna loves to go outside and should be in a neighborhood that is somewhat contained. He is a very handsome big boy and very low maintenance. He is also very patient with children, and he tolerates the dog, although they aren't best friends. Both kitties are up to date on all of their shots and are spayed and neutered. We have to re-home these kitties due to family allergies. It is very important to us to find the right fit. We would prefer these cats go together since they have been together since being kittens. If you're interested in one or both of these kitties, please contact sarahjbyrd@yahoo.com.

Hello, my name is Little Bull. I was the runt of the litter, so my human grandma named me Little Bull. I now am the biggest puppy at 55 lbs. and have a brown and white coat. I am neutered and up to date on my shots. I would love to be adopted with one of my siblings because we are so close, but if that is not possible, it will be ok. I love to lie around and be petted. I can also be a bit of a mischief-maker, but it is all in good fun! I will need some help with house and crate training. I am currently working on walking on a leash and I am doing pretty well at it. I have never met a cat, so I am not sure if I would like them. I have only been around the other dogs in my family before. I have never met any children, but grandma hugs me a lot. There is one last important thing to know about me: I love to give kisses and sleep in grandma's bed. Well, that is all this is to say about me. Hope to meet the right new family soon!
Little Bull is one of a litter of six puppies (three boys and three girls) available for adoption. They are American Staffordshire Terrier and Razor Edge Bull Terrier mixes. They were born June 25, 2012. If you are interested in adopting one of these puppies, please contact Angelique at 804-502-1108 or Lee at 804-439-0484. Thank you for your interest!

Hello, my name is Teddy Bear. I currently weigh about 48 lbs. and have a reddish brown coat. I have all my shots and been spayed. I love to play with every human I meet and give them kisses. I also love to lay in bed with my human grandparents. I am a good cuddler, but I can also be very playful. I love to spend time with my brothers. I have never met a cat or another dog. I will need help with crate and house training. I have no experience with children, although my human grandma sure acts like one sometimes. I can be adopted with or without one of my siblings.
Teddy Bear is one of a litter of six puppies (three boys and three girls) available for adoption. They are American Staffordshire Terrier and Razor Edge Bull Terrier mixes. They were born June 25, 2012. If you are interested in adopting one of these puppies, please contact Angelique at 804-502-1108 or Lee at 804-439-0484. Thank you for your interest!

Meet Joni, a very affectionate one-year-old cat. Joni lives for love--she asks to be picked up every time she sees you, and will stay in your arms, head on your shoulder and purring, for as long as you let her. She also gives nose kisses and face rubs—an added bonus! Joni is a quiet but social kitty who will play happily with other feline friends. If you need some good lovin', this kitty is the one! She currently lives with other cats. She is up to date on her shots, spayed, and currently has a month of free pet insurance. If you are interested in learning more about Joni, please call Michaux or Greg at 804-739-6590 or 804-387-3981. Thanks!

This is Mal, a sweet, soulful kitty who loves to sleep in his corner bed, enjoys being held, and loves to play with other cat friends and kitty toys. He is soft, sweet and affectionate, and would make a great companion to other cats or to a quiet home. Some of his most special habits are to roll onto his back and look up at you lovingly, and to “chirp” when he wants attention. He is interested in going outside, but lack of experience keeps him cautious about doing so. Mal has a chronic urinary condition, so he needs 100% wet food. This one is really special—open your home and heart to him, and you will be so glad you did! He currently lives with other cats. He is up to date on his shots, neutered, microchipped, and currently has a month of free pet insurance. If you are interested in learning more about Mal, please call Michaux or Greg at 804-739-6590 or 804-387-3981. Thanks!

Winston came into my life very early on Thanksgiving morning in 1995 via a good friend who found him as a kitten on his newspaper route. My friend couldn’t keep the kitten (already named after Sir Winston “the Pushful” Churchill), so I took him in. Winston has been great company since. He’s a very friendly cat. He got along well with the other cat I adopted that year, but since my most recent cats arrived, Winston has not adjusted well. He is currently confined away from the other cats. He is now 17 years old and has arthritis, for which he takes a feline joint supplement. For more information about Winston, please contact Bill at pastshelfdate@i-c.net. Thanks!

Dixie (brindle boxer mix) and Darla (tan pitt mix) are rescues. They have been spayed, treated for fleas/ticks, vaccinated, house/crate trained, etc. Due to unexpected changes in our household, we must find new homes for them as soon as possible and do not require that they be adopted as a pair. They are two years old, weigh about 30 lbs, are super friendly, and do best with children 6+ years old. They do not seem to get along well with cats, though, and will need plenty of exercise. While they still have puppy energy, they love just as much to be couch potatoes. Dixie is more docile and loves to follow you around the house while Darla is more playful and curious. If you would like to learn more about Dixie or Darla, or to come over for a visit, please email brownhl123@yahoo.com or call Claudia Brown (804) 221-5130. Thanks!

Pluto is an 11-year-old male cat who is neutered and up-to-date on all shots. He's a chubby, fluffy boy who loves to be petted and will follow you from room to room just to sleep near you wherever you are. He's also very playful and will "fetch" small cat toys and even wadded up bits of paper. He's lived mostly as an indoor cat. Pluto gets along well with other cats, dogs, and children – he never scratches or hisses! He needs a home with hardwood or other uncarpeted space to live in, as he does sometimes confuse carpeting and litter boxes. For a family with the right home, he will be a loving, amazing pet! For more information, please email jlcadwallader@gmail.com.

Miller is a big 8-year-old orange tabby cat. He is neutered, up to date on his shots and declawed in the front two paws. He is a great cat, loves to cuddle and is very personable. He needs to remain an inside cat. He would do best as the only pet in a home with adults and older children only. Although he has been introduced to children after the births of his owners’ son and daughter in the past 3 years, he likes being the center of attention and seems bothered by small children. If you would like more information on Miller, please contact Ashley at 804-317-6287 or at ashleyhill@comcast.net.

Cabela is a 7-year-old, female, Siamese-Calico kitty. She weighs 5 lbs. and is declawed in both front paws. Cabela has always been a strictly indoor kitty, but she is well potty-trained. She is the perfect mix of playmate and lounging companion. She also loves to talk very much! She is a great kitty for company, children, and dogs, but she likes to be the feline queen of the home. Cabela suffers from hyperthyroidism and needs daily medication and this is the main reason her owner needs to find a loving, generous new owner that can meet her needs. She is current on her rabies vaccination. For more information on Cabela, call or email Jessica at (804) 385-8004 or jessica.lacks@gmail.com.

Maggie is about 1 year old and still has a lot of puppy in her! She is a fairly large dog weighing just shy of 60 lbs. We think she is an Irish Wolfhound/Black Lab mix, and it really shows in how affectionate she is with everyone she meets. She is spayed and fully vaccinated. She can definitely be excitable (not jumping up is hard when you're so happy!), but the high energy is all puppy-bursts and she spends more time lounging than roughhousing. She needs a home with structure and routine to help her be the best dog she can be. She's incredibly sweet and definitely a people dog; Maggie is eager to please... when she isn't distracted by that pesky squirrel! She does well with cats and dogs. She is housetrained with no destructive tendencies and walks relatively well on a leash (still pulls a little, but is getting better). Will she be the newest member of your family? For more info, email us at abigail.leigers@gmail.com.

Cici is an 8-year-old, black and white, female feline who is spayed and up to-date on her shots. She was adopted from RAL in 2007 and she has spent all of her life indoors. She is being reh-homed due to her a change in her owner’s living situation. She can be pretty shy around others, but has lived with another cat, a dog and people. She loves being petted! She was happiest when she lived with one male cat who let her be boss; she would likely do well as a buddy to an existing cat or as a single pet. For more information about the beautiful Cici, please contact Francis by phone at 804-591-8070.

Mochi (pronounced moe-chee) is a 2-year-old, all gray, female feline who is spayed and up to-date on her shots. Her owners found her when she was 1 month old as a stray and took her in. She has spent the time since as an indoor cat in their home. She is being re-homed due to a change in her owner’s living situation. She has lived with other cats and a dog and did well with them all. She can be a little shy at first, but warms up quickly and loves the company of other animals and people. She especially enjoys snuggling in a warm lap! For more information about the lovely Mochi, please contact Francis by phone at 804-591-8070.

This handsome guy is Jake! He is one year old and weighs about 50 pounds. He is looking to be someone’s best friend. He is loving and compassionate. He gives kisses, hugs, and will definitely make you feel better on a bad day. He likes other dogs and would prefer a home with a buddy for him. He would do best in a home without children. He is housetrained. Jake needs a home that has the time to work with him and keep up a structured routine. He can get protective over his home and people, so he will need some training. He is up to date on his shots and neutered. He has a crate, mat, and other supplies that will go with him to his new home. To learn more about this fellow, please call Vanessa at 617-971-6777.

Sammie is a female cat who is approximately 4.5 or 5 years old. She is spayed and up to-date on her shots. We took her in as a stray when she was about 6-8 months old, so she has lived in our home for about 4 years. We are unable to keep her because of our allergies. She enjoys the opportunity to go outside (she’s a great “hunter”), but always spends the night inside. She shares a home with a dog and 2 children (ages 13 and 11) and is friendly, though also independent. For more information about Sammie, please contact Marci via email cmhrmiller@comcast.net or by phone at 804-921-6140 or 804-346-4285.

Molly is a 5-year-old Jack Russell mix. She is healthy, spayed, and her vaccinations are up to date. Molly is very affectionate, loves to play, and does well with children and adults. She needs a home without cats or other dogs. My schedule does not allow as much time for her as I would like. Therefore, I would love to have her with a home that could give her the time and attention she deserves. She would love a fenced yard in which she could run around and play. Contact me for more information at gjohnson114@cox.net.

Hi! My name is Nora and I am looking for a home. I am around 5 years old. I am a Catahoula Leopard mix and weight about thirty-five pounds. I am spayed and up to date on my vaccines. I am housebroken, friendly and good with small children. I am happy to go for a jog, walk or take a trip to the dog park but my favorite thing to do is to spend time with people. When they are around me, I am calm and even lazy. I enjoy lounging around the house with my owners. When they leave me, I get pretty anxious, but with consistent training I am sure I can learn to calm down. I would do best in a home with someone around most of the time to keep me company or where I can be active outdoors.
If you are interested in giving Nora a home, call Kathryn Pruett at 804-310-5645.

Savannah Hi, my name is for Savannah! I’m a 7-year-old Mountain Cur. I am already spayed and up to date on my vaccinations. I am a goofy, smart girl. My whole body wags when I greet you! I am in a foster home and am looking for another foster home, or better yet, my forever home! My foster mom had a baby and unfortunately can’t keep me because small children make me nervous. I am very intelligent; I know how to sit, stay, lay down, and go to my crate on command. I have excellent house manners. I like cats and friendly male dogs. I would prefer to live with a woman. Men have not been kind to me in the past and I am scared of them. However, my foster dad loves me, and I love him, too. I need a home that is on the quiet side with people who will take me for walks and car rides. In return, I promise to be a loyal and loving companion! Please contact my foster mom Chandra at Chandra.Hulcher@va.gov for more information.

Felix and Owen Felix and Owen are 6-year-old brothers and need a new home. Felix is solid gray and loves attention. Owen is solid black and a bit shy, but really wants to be loved. We are both neutered and declawed. Our mom adopted us two years ago, but our family has three dogs and we are very afraid of them. We are kept in a separate part of the house away from everybody, until at night when my mom goes to bed. We are healthy and have a regular diet. We aren't picky, but Tuna is our favorite. If you are interested in us please contact Angela at (804) 955-6859.

Squeekers Squeekers is an affectionate, chatty, short-haired spayed female kitty who we believe to be approximately 4 years old. Unable to find her owner, we welcomed her into the house. Squeekers is litter trained and up to date on her shots. She likes to sneak outdoors when she can but prefers to sleep inside in her nice warm bed. She is a real sweetie and will happily provide your castle with the Queen that it deserves. Contact Beth at efhutchins@verizon.net if you are interested in adopting Squeekers.

Zeus My name is Zeus and I'm a wonderful, handsome man. I was saved from being euthanized and desperately need a loving home. I'm about 6-8 yrs old, neutered, declawed and up-to-date on my vaccines. I don't ask for much and promise to put a smile on your face and bring happiness into your home. Please open your heart to me; you won't be disappointed! This Maine Coon mix cat is Tobias. He is about 6 years old and he has been neutered. He has FIV, which means he should be the only cat, but he's such a sweetie that's all you would need! He has a knack for always being able to find a lap when he needs a good nap and he adores attention from people. For more information on Tobias, call Anne at 804-762-8793 or 804-938-2842.

This cutie is Melchior, or "Melly Man". He is a neutered male who is about 3 or 4 years old and he has FIV, but he does not let this get in the way of his happiness. Because of his sickness, he would have to be the only cat in the house, or be with other FIV positive kitties, but he can live a long, healthy life just like any other cat. He is a sweet guy who would love to find a forever home. For more information, call Anne at 804-762-8793 or 804-938-2842.
