Participating in the Richmond SPCA's Dog Jog and 5K Run is naturally rewarding because it supports thousands of orphaned dogs and cats. We also award prizes to add to the fun, and to recognize the wonderful efforts that help make this event a success. In 2012, prizes and awards that may be earned by top fundraisers, top 5K Run finishers and other supporters include:
Five lucky, randomly drawn participants who register for the event online before February 1, 2012 will receive a special gift!
All fundraisers who raise $500 or more in donations will receive a special prize!
Johnny Birkitt Hero Award: This is the highest honor presented annually at the Dog Jog and 5K Run to the person or team that shows the most spirit and dedication to the cause. This award is accompanied by a special certificate, recognition at the awards ceremony and an engraved plaque in the lobby of the Robins-Starr Humane Center. We present this award in memory of Johnny Birkitt and to honor the dozens of friends and family members who have demonstrated such deep committment to orphaned animals.
Grand Prize for Top Fundraising Adult: Two-night stay with breakfast for two at The Boar's Head Inn in Charlottesville, Va. and a gift from R.E.I.
Prize for Second Highest Fundraising Adult: Two-night stay at Marriott Ranch in Hume, Va. for two
Prize for Third Highest Fundraising Adult: One-year membership to Gold's Gym (The Fan, Willow Lawn, Mechanicsville, Colonial Heights and Swift Creek) and one-month of unlimited hot yoga from Bikram Yoga Richmond
Grand Prize for Top Youth Fundraising Youth (age 15 and younger): Gift certificate to join Peak Experiences' climbing team, four tickets to a Flying Squirrels game and a $50 gift certificate to Buzz and Ned's
Grand Prize for Top Fundraising Team: Lunch for your team, a one-year Robins-Starr Humane Center kennel run dedication in your team’s name and 25 tickets to a Flying Squirrels baseball game (redeemable for any 2012 home game except for opening day and July 4)
Prize for Second Highest Fundraising Team: One-year Robins-Starr Humane Center cat condo dedication in your team's name
